House, now a College residence. c.1830. Brick, stuccoed and
colourwashed. Hipped slate roof. Ashlar plinth. 3 side wall
and single ridge stacks. 2 storeys plus lower 2 storey wing each
side. 9 bays. L-plan. Windows are glazing bar sashes.
West front has central moulded doorcase with fanlight and small
flanking lights. Beyond, single Venetian windows. Above,
central Venetian window flanked by single sashes. Garden front
has to left, conservatory, late C19, by Messenger of Loughborough,
wood and iron with brick base. Canted south end. To its right,
large early C19 bow window with plain triple sash and conical
lead roof. To right again, off-centre French window with
overlight, flanked to left by 2 and to right by single sashes.
To right again, 2 setback bays each with a sash. Beyond, hipped
wing with C20 door flanked by single sashes. Above, 5 sashes.
To their right, a sash flanked by single casements. North end
has irregular fenestration, mainly C20. Interior has rectangular
stairwell containing cantilever stone dogleg stair with iron
balusters and scrolled wood handrail. Moulded cornices.
