piers to Okeover Hall

GV II*

Gates and gate piers. c1740. Ashlar piers and wrought iron gates,
the latter by Robert Bakewell of Derby. Gate piers of square section
with round headed niches and rusticated surround, moulded cornice and
tall obelisk finials, carried on balls at corners, gates with elabor-
ately decorated overthrow. C.L. Vol. 135 (1964) P. 175 & 176.
