Nos 2 and 3 Castle Street, Ryde, were the homes of Thomas and Harriet (nee Combes) Halsted in the 1860s (No.3) and of Charles and Sarah Humber (nee Sanders) Halsted (No.2 double fronted) in the 1870s. Widow Sarah Humber Halsted continued to live at No.2 until her death in 1908.
