Statue group. One of a collection of statuary by Sir Henry Cheere, bought in
1812 by Samuel Whitbread II. Lead figure group depicting Samson slaying the
Philistine, a copy of the original by Giovanni Bologna. Stands on Coade stone
plinth, the whole approximately 3 metres high. (C Hussey, "Southill Park",
