Large farmhouse. C17 core with additions to both sides, probably
late C17/early C18 to right and early C19 to left. Roughcast,
slate roof, one large double-flued stone ridge stack with moulded
cornice, and 3 brick stacks. Through passage main range with 2
original central gables and 2-storey cross-gabled porch, and added
larger gable to right, extension of ridge to left. 2 storeys and
attic. Original 2 gables have one window each on each floor,
mainly 3-light recessed splayed wood mullions, wing to left has two
12-pane C19 sashes in reveals, steep gable wing to right has two
long 4-pane C19 sashes in moulded wooden frames. Central 2-storey
porch has stone ball finial on each of 3 gables, C20 wood mullion
and transom style window in front over square-headed opening. Door
to house has 3 large fielded panels. Above window is oval plaque
with date 1718 and initials ES and with foliage surround inlaid in
roughcast. Pair of gate piers in rusticated stone with moulded
cornices and large stone ball finials, about 2.5 metres high, with
scrolled bracket adjoining stepped junction with coped coursed
rubble stone wall curved out on each side and across front of
house.
