Former toll house. Probably 1791. Rendered, ashlar lined; Welsh slate roof with large eaves overhang and ornamental bargeboard to North front, hipped to rear; brick chimney stack. 2 storeys, 2- bays each face. Pointed segmental arched windows with 'Y' tracery and slim surrounds; to lower bay 2 on North side a plain boarded door in matching arched surround; interior not seen.
This gate set up 1791 by the Wincanton Trust (Sweetman, G, History of Wincanton, c1904).
