History in Structure

Church of St Michael and All Angels

A Grade I Listed Building in Copford, Essex

Norman wall paintings.

Uploader's Comments

The original Norman building had a barrel-vaulted Nave, an exceptionally rare example in England that was replaced in 1400 by the present timber structure. Note the springers to the left and right that held up this roof.
