14/120 The Bell Inn
II
Inn, C18, extended C19, painted brick with slate roofs. Two
storeys. Earlier range to left has left end stack and right end
stack on front roof slope, 3 first floor casement pairs, 2 ground
floor casement pairs with cambered heads and centre door slightly
to right of original position with C19 or C20 painted surround of
fluted piers and flat hood. A large painted bell hangs from an
iron bracket on roof. Later right hand range has paired ridge
stack and lower pitched roof. To left, two 16-pane sashes over
16-pane sash, door in surround matching that on original range, and
pair of 16-pane sashes, all with flat brick heads. To right,
first floor casement pair over 2 small C20 casements with cambered
heads. Original range has mid C18 small ground floor corner
fireplace with raised moulded surround and fluted keystone.
