7/131 Sandfield House
II
Villa, dated 1828, extended 1878-9, ashlar with concrete-tile roof
and ashlar stacks. Two storeys, Gothic style. The original
villa has a narrow centre flanked by full-height canted bays,
drip course and parapet above, and pointed-head mullion windows
with hoodmoulds. One 2-light to first floor centre, 3-light to
each floor of bays. Ground floor centre projecting canted porch,
dated 1828, with Gothic cornice and Tudor-arched openings. Double
doors to front, small-paned fixed lights each side. Tudor-arched
inner door. East end wall has similar blank 2-light each floor.
To left of main front is matching addition of 1878-9 with similar
3-light and hoodmould each floor, behind are 2-storey ranges dated
1879 on west side rainwater heads and H.E.M. 1878, for H.E.
Medlicott, on an east side projecting bay.
