11/227 Smithwick Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, late C17, extended and altered c1900, red brick with
ashlar dressings and Bridgwater tiled half-hipped roofs. Two
storeys and attic, L-plan originally, now T-plan. North side is
rendered, the left end with large side-wall stack is an extension.
To right, 2 flat dormers, 4 first floor ovolo-moulded stone mullion
windows, one pair blank. Ground floor large paned casement pairs
and C20 casement pair. West end wall has exposed old red brick.
East end is exposed C19 red brick with cambered head windows.
Roughcast south return wall. Original rear wing has ridge stack,
half-hipped gable and east front refaced in c1900 red brick reusing
2 first floor 2-light mullion windows. Ground floor 2 sashes. A
flat roofed-extension in angle in c1900 red brick also has re-used
mullion windows, one each floor on east side.
