Fire hydrant. Circa mid C19. Made by J. Stone and Co., of Deptford, London. Cast-iron. Circular on plan, about 1 metre tall. Short fluted column with moulded base and capital, the base with inscription 'CITY of WELLS'. Hose connection on side.
One of a series of fire hydrants in Wells, in Priory Road, St Andrew Street and in St Thomas Street.
