Now private dwellings of 2 or 3 storeys, originally the stable yard of
the Croft Hotel. Stone rubble, slate roofs, built in 2 ranges at an obtuse
angle to a cobbled court. South range has a small wooden Gothic aedile
on 1st floor and 4 12-paned sashes, arrow slits above, modern openings
below, and a clock face in a gabled centre portion, with elaborately carved
wooden surround. North range is similar with gabled centre, and 4 openings
on upper floor (2 12-paned, one a studded loft door, and one blocked opening),
one older sash window on ground floor, otherwise modern windows and garage
doors.
Mounting block beside older sash. Iron pump and stone trough in angle
between the two ranges. Clustered chimneys.
Croft Hotel. Croft Lodge. Nos 1 to 5 (consec) (Croft Courtyard),Cobbled
courtyard with mounting block and pump, Gatehouse, Howsley Cottage. Wayside
and Rock Cottage form a group.
