cottage orne. Cream roughcast over stone rubble, slate roof, 3 chimneys
2 storeys. 4 12-paned sash windows on upper floor, 5 below, and twin glazed
doors under a small verandah/porch of delicate wooden piers, Tudor arches
and iron cresting. Awning cases to all windows. A lower portion to left
(west) is partly gabled and partly castellated and has a glazed and panelled
door and blind traceried round fanlight under a round-headed porch with
Chinese patterned front fascia on slender wooden Tuscan columns. Garage
in gabled portion has been inserted in a large round arch of the former
coach-house.
Croft Hotel, Croft Lodge, Nos 1 to 5 (consec) (Croft Courtyard), Cobbled
courtyard with mounting block and pump, Gatehouse, Howsley Cottage, Wayside
and Rock Cottage form a group.
