House. Probably late C17. Brick with hipped plain tiled roof.
2 storeys and attic, 3-window range (formerly 6) with central
entrance hall. Main front faces garden, with central
6-panelled door with overlight in moulded architrave. Flanking
tripartite windows are late C18 insertions, as are the three
12-pane sash windows above. Finely gauged brick heads of
earlier windows still visible. Continuous string course
between the storeys, and pilasters marking angles. Hipped
gabled dormers in the roof. Return elevation a 3-window range,
most blind.
Rear elevation has retained original fenestration to first
floor, 6 windows with finely gauged brick heads. Tall panelled
axial stacks. Lower wing to east contains present entrance:
its garden front has ogee gable between pilasters with
Palladian window to ground floor altered to form French doors.
This provides a link to a 2-storeyed service wing projecting
into the courtyard.
