Shop with accommodation above. Dated 1879. Painted render with
slate roof.
3 storeys plus attic and 3 bays. On the ground floor is a shop
front with a timber cornice and with curved glass windows at
the doorway. In the right-hand bay there is a yard entrance.
The windows to the upper storeys have architraves, and those
to the 2nd floor have a moulded sill band. The windows are
sashed. The central window on the 1st floor is wider and has
paired sashes without glazing bars and a lugged architrave
with cornice. The chimney at the left has a cap with moulded
cornice.
The left-hand gable wall, facing Brogden Street, has a shop
front with paired pilasters to each side, a dentilled cornice,
and a pediment over the central doorway. Above, there are
rusticated pilaster strips at the corners, and 2 bays with
sashed windows in architraves. A small central attic window
has a bracketed sill with an inscribed date ('1879') below.
The gable verges are bracketed. The Brogden Street facade
continues to the left where it is of 2 storeys and has a
gabled one-bay shop (No.2 Brogden Street) linked to the main
shop by 2 bays which are separated by warehouse doors on each
floor.
