Two similar houses. Early C19. Painted brick with granite
plinth, sills, keyblocks to flat arches and mid-floor string;
original slurried scantle slate roof to No.2 (right), dry
slate to No.1; brick end stacks; 2 hipped roof dormers to
No.1. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; overall 7-window range.
No.1 is a 4-window front with doorway right of centre; C20
16-pane horned sashes; C20 glazed door. No.2 has doorway
slightly right of centre; original 16-pane hornless sashes;
old glazed and panelled door. Both houses have original
distyle Doric porches with fluted columns, dentilled friezes
and flat cornices; round-arched doorways with fine anthemion
fanlights of different designs; granite steps.
INTERIOR of No.1 has moulded door architraves with corner
blocks and roundels and original staircase with later
handrail.
