Lifeboat memorial. 1898. Marble. Monument in form of a pile of
carved marble rocks with on the west side a life buoy, coils
of rope and other sea-faring paraphenalia and supporting patee
cross. On east side an inscription records events of 7
December 1898, when 7 members of the Aldeburgh Lifeboat died
in a rescue attempt.
