House, now cafe. Early to mid C19. Painted roughcast with
painted stone dressings and slate roof. A symmetrical
composition of 2 storeys plus attic and 3 bays with some
details in Greek Revival style. The windows are glazing bar
sashes in lugged architraves, except for the left-hand window
on the ground floor which has been widened and now has a
single sheet of glass with a narrow painted surround. The
central bay rises as an attic storey under a gabled roof which
runs back above the level of the ridge of the main roof. The
attic window is tall and narrow, with a round head and
keystone. The verge projects and has plain bargeboards with a
finial. Above the outer bays there is a bracketed stone
cornice gutter. The doorway has a stone doorcase of engaged
columns with palm-leaf capitals. The frieze is decorated by
roundels, and the pediment has a central laurel wreath and has
antefixae.
