Terrace of 7 shops with flats above. Late C19. Snecked
limestone with sandstone dressings, some applied
half-timbering, and slate roof. Symmetrical, of 2 storeys plus
attics. On the ground floor there are timber shop fronts
separated by pilasters, with timber fascias visible above the
glass canopy roof of a verandah supported on cast-iron
columns, and with recessed entrance doors to the flats. The
slender iron columns have plinths and capitals ornamented with
foliage decoration. On the 1st floor above each shop there are
3 sashed windows. The end shops both have central timber
canted oriels. The central shop has a similar oriel, which
rises into the attic storey where it is flanked by 2 windows,
all under a wide gable. Each half of the facade has windows of
2-3-2 lights rising into attic dormers, all sashed with
glazing bars to the upper panes. The gables have half-timbered
decoration and finials. Chimneys on party walls.
