GV II

House incorporating part of S face of St Paul's Belltower
(qv). Late C17 with mid C18 alterations. Roughcast limestone
rubble with brick exterior left-hand stack and pantile roof.
2-bay plan set at right-angles to street.
2 storeys and attic; 1-window range. A gabled front has a
right-hand doorway with a bracketed canopy to a 6-panel door
with glazed top panels, paired 6/6-pane sashes in flush frames
with thick glazing bars to ground and first floors and single
sash to attic. Left-hand return has ground- and first-floor
sashes to the back.
INTERIOR: details include a re-used capital and part of drum
of column from the N arcade of St Paul in the NW corner of the
pantry at the back of the house, and a length of drip in its E
wall; 3-bay C18 collar truss roof, and right-hand rear stair
flight with stick balusters and column newels.
