2 Houses, now offices. C16, altered C19 and C20.
Timber-framed, first floor plastered, ground floor faced in
red brick, laid to Flemish bond, at left, the remainder faced
in dark-stained weatherboarding. Colourwashed plaster and
pebbledashing at rear. Old tiled roof, formerly with central
projecting jettied gable carried on timber brackets, red brick
chimneystacks with orange clay pots.
EXTERIOR: first floor has 32 paned Yorkshire sash window at
left, 2 flush-set wood casements with divided glazing and
architrave surrounds in centre and 1 small wood casement
window at right; ground floor with modern plain glazed closed
window in earlier (but partly rebuilt) opening with segmental
arched rubbed brick above, C20 glazed door and sidelight and
window with bold transom in earlier openings. C20 doors in
earlier openings at right.
INTERIOR: late C16 or early C17 timber-framed structure, with
cambered tie beam with queen struts, formerly with arch
bracing against party wall with No.9 (qv) on first floor. Rear
first floor wall plate has 2 early studs and mortices for 3
more, chimneystack inserted. Ground floor has corner fireplace
in No.11, exposed mortices for studs in C20 rear porch, and
exposed beams in ceiling of right-hand (south) room, formerly
No.13.
