Tunnel entrance. 1801. John Rennie, engineer. Rock-faced
ashlar. Curved retaining wall with plain string course and
parapet with curved copings. Terminal piers. Parabolic arch to
tunnel entrance. Plaque in classical cartouche with eroded
inscription over the arch.
