Canal tunnel entrance and screen. 1801. John Rennie, Engineer. Rock-
faced ashlar-like rubble. slightly concave retaining wall with end
piers and parapet; central, elliptically-arched tunnel entrance set
well down, pilastered plaque over; inscription now lost.
