Pair of houses. Late C19. Squared limestone rubble with
freestone dressings, slate roof with wide eaves and brick
ridge stack to party wall. Picturesque Eclectic style.
Double-depth plans with rear 2-storey outshuts.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics; each house is 2-window range.
Full-width gables with loop-pattern fretted bargeboards. Eared
and shouldered surrounds and bracketed sills to 2/2-pane sash
windows to the upper floors, a narrow lintel band to the 1st
floor. To the ground-floor centre of the pair are canted bays
with pierced guilloche parapets and plate-glass sashes.
To the outer ranges are prostyle Tuscan porches with similar
parapets over 4-panelled doors glazed to the top, and
overlights with margin panes. The returns are of English-bond
brick.
