Circa 1500 timber rframed house built on an attenuated H-plan with jettied crosswings
to north and south. Roofs ridged and gabled pegtiled. Elevations plastered
and all existing windows hornless sash-hung in exposed boxes. Whole timber framed,
and of 2 storeys. Main red brick chimney stack close to the north return of
the ridges, and another near the centre of length. Two later stacks flank south
wall of south wing. Hall range has semi-hexagonal 2 storey bay window near centre
of east front with 6 panel door on left with wreath-and-hand knocker under flat
hood on mutules. Scroll-sawn bracket to jetty at north-east. (RCHM 4).
