Handsome C18 house set endwise to the street. Front elevation of red brick
and grey headers alternately. Slate roof. Three storeys. Three windows.
Yellow brick stringcourses and modillion eaves cornice. Parapet of red brick
and grey headers. Glazing bars intact. The south end of the front forms a
bulging bow containing a 3-light window on all floors. Unusual doorcase at
the head of a flight of steps placed sideways, flanked by pilasters with a
slip window on either side and pediment over, supported on brackets having
side portions over the slip windows, also semi-circular fanlight and door of
6 moulded panels. This is one of the best C18 houses in Cowes.
