Garden wall. Circa 1607 with C18 or early C19 addition and partial rebuilding.
Red and grey sandstone, coursed rubble and squared and coursed stone; red
brick. Approximately 140 metres long and approximately 3 metres high, ramped
down to approximately one metre at the south-west end. Chamfered sandstone
plinth to probably C18 or early C19 south-west end; buttress to north-east end; curved
brick coping. This wall adjoining the Banqueting House (q.v.) and other
buildings nearby is all that remains of Sir Francis Newport's house at Eyton
after its destruction by fire.
