Former pair of terrace houses, with shop, c. 1731-32 altered c. 1800
as one premises with shop. Brown brick, slate roof. 3 storeys and
dormered mansard. 6 windows wide. Ground floor taken up by c. 1800
timber shop front with arcaded windows and doorway, panelled risers,
glazing bars, and original shutters; to left,passageway, giving
access to Pickering Place, shows timber framing of flank walls
and has a side entrance with architraved doorway and cornice hood.
The upper floors of front have recessed glazing bar sash windows
under gauged red brick flat arches and with red brick dressings. Red
brick flanks. Red brick cornice below parapet. Cast iron balcony
across 1st floor. Interior of shop retains original shelving
and fittings.
