Terraced houses. c1822-23 by Lewis William Wyatt as part of Nash's Suffolk
Street-Suffolk Place development. Incised coursed stucco, slate roofs. 3
storeys, basement and dormered mansards. Each front 1 window wide. Channelled
ground floor with doorways to left but No 13 with former doorway to right as
well, all square headed as are recessed sashes except for semicircular arched
one of No 12, and framed by Tuscan pilasters supporting block cornice and the
console brackets of the 1st floor bombé iron balconettes; the 1st floor windows
architraved with shallow consoles to pediments over and shallow architraves to
2nd floor sashes. Rusticated quoins each end of row and main entablature with
parapet balustraded in front of dormers. The right hand door of No 13 formerly
gave access to 2 separate houses flanking rear courtyard. Cast iron crescent
and spear headed area railings with plume finials. Nos 12 to 14 were a private
speculation by L W Wyatt who lived at No 13 from 1823 to 1829.
