House. Late C16, and early C19, with C20 restoration. Exposed timber frame with
painted brick (some ironstone) infill, on a rubble base, some refacing of ironstone
with brick dressings (quoins, band, plinth), some brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall
bond, and upper walls on the south side mainly tile-hung. Hipped tile roof, with
gable to the lower south wing; shafted stack. Timber-framed 3-bay lobby-entrance
house, with minor changes, west extension of the early C19 and south wing with C17
frame, reclad on the main face. 2 storeys, irregular fenestration. C20 casements,
but 2 C16 upper 3-light casements with chamfered openings and cills on carved
brackets. C20 ½-glazed doors. Interior shows the massive framing and large
chimney-breast, with bressummer on chamfered stone jambs.
