House. Early C17, with restoration of c.1900. The rear wall has an upper part of
massive framework with ironstone infill, and lower walls of ironstone with brick
dressings, the south end cross wing has ironstone with brick dressings, the front
(c.1900) has tile-hanging above cemented lower walls, the cross wing having brick-
work in English bond, and a basement stone-framed mullioned window of 5 lights.
Tile roof, hipped and )-hipped, with a gable to the front. A timber-framed house
with a cross wing, the north end being extended c.1900; 2 storeys, attic, and part
basement, irregular fenestration. Leaded lights in oak frames, 2-storeyed gabled
porch of c.1900. Interior: the massive framing is exposed on all floors, and there
is panelling of the C16, C17 and C18, including some fine linenfold work (from a
demolished Essex building), a C17 panelled door, and a front door lwith linenfold
panelling beneath carved panels.
