3/52 Hagg Farmhouse and
adjoining byre/hayloft.

Wrongly shown on O.S. map as Station Road. Farmhouse, byre and hayloft,
mid/late C18; late C18 farm cottage, now part of farmhouse. Dressed
sandstone. Mid C20 concrete tiled roof, with stone ridge and gable copings
and block kneelers. Stacks to ridge and right ends of house and cottage,
the latter 2 rebuilt in brick. 2 storeys. Farmhouse, 2 windows. Entered
by 6-panelled door in left-hand side of farm cottage adjoining right.
Early/mid C19 16-pane sashes on ground floor; horizontal sashes with glazing
bars on first floor. Keyed lintel between floors in left-hand bay.
2-storey farm cottage has one altered window on each floor, that to ground
floor in enlarged opening. Single-storey porch extension to right, has
blocked doorway. Byre with hayloft over, adjoins left side of farmhouse and
has stable door and loft door reached by renewed external timber and metal
stair. Rear of farmhouse shows original scattered fenestration of small
square openings. Single-storey pent extension at rear of cottage.
