Farmhouse. c.1700, with later addition to rear. Coursed squared sandstone,
with quoins, stone slate roof. Double-depth 4-room plan formed by 2-unit
central lobby-entry front range with coupled rear wings within the square.
Two storeys; almost symmetrical; doorway with chamfered surround and ogee-
shaped lintel offset slightly left of centre, above this at 1st floor a
single-light window with segmental head and hollow spandrels, otherwise two
windows on each floor all of 2 square lights with chamfered mullions; ridge
chimney in line with door; stone gable copings with kneelers. Rear: two
gabled wings, with quoins to that on the left (rear of 2nd unit), gable
copings with kneelers, gable chimneys; window on right-hand side at ground
floor lettered "DAIRY" on sill.
Interior: right-hand front room has cyma-stopped chamfered beam; left front
room has moulded plaster cornice and similarly decorated beam; various
fielded panel doors.
History: initials on dated lintel of barn (q.v.) identified as William Myers
and Alice Holmes, married 1700.
