Country house. 1908 by Ernest Willmott, pupil of Sir Herbert Baker. Rendered
brickwork with tiled roofs.Dutch colonial style. E shaped plan. One storey
and attics. Entrance front in the E, central two storeyed porch with decorative
gable with segmental head and console supporters. Arched entrance, niche above,
2 light small paned casement above this, oculus in gable. Sash windows to
either side of porch. Wings project forward with arched window above plain
sash. Tall mansard roof with 2 light flat topped dormers and tall brick stacks.
Garden front 7 bays. Three large small paned sashes flank central bowed porch
with paired Ionic columns, balcony over. Large dormers with alternate
triangular and segmented pediments. Central feature has triple window and
segmental pediment above. Interior is largely unaltered. Drawing room with
plaster panelled walls and fireplace with marble surround. Downstairs corridor
with compartmented ceiling. Upstairs corridor with barrel vault. Source.
