House and attached barn. House mid C18, extra bay and barn probably early
C19. House of ashlar, barn of coursed squared gritstone, both with
graduated stone slate roofs. House: 2-storey, 2-bay main block with added
bay to left; barn of probably 6 bays. House, main range: stressed quoins;
half-glazed door to right of centre in round-arched surround of stressed
quoins; flanking ground-floor windows of paired 6-pane casements in
projecting surrounds; similar surrounds to 8-pane casements on first floor
with projecting sill and lintel bands. Shaped kneeler and gable coping to
right, end stacks. Added bay to left: half-glazed 4-panel door to left, 4-
pane sash in projecting surround to right, both floors. Barn: cart entrance
with double doors left of centre has keyed flat arch with splayed voussoirs
and arched recess above. Byre door to left with tie-stone jambs. 16-pane
iron-framed window upper floor, right. Shaped kneelers, gable coping.
Whipley Hall, Clint (qv) is a smaller house of similar date and style.
