Farmhouse. Dated inside 1738. Red brick, Flemish bond, now colourwashed, on local stone rubble base; plain clay tile roof half hipped at West end, plain gable East end; brick end and intermediate chimney stacks. "T"-plan; 2 storeys with attic; 4 bays, of which West bay may be early addition. South facade has plinth and band course; segmental arched windows with apparently original frames fitted with early C20 small pane casements below, matching flat headed windows above, all 2-lights; brick and tile porch to bay 3 with early part-glazed outer door and C18 plain 6-panel inner door.
Rear projection C18, half hipped, with leaded attic windows suggesting original form for remainder of house. Fireplace with arched timber beam to main room, which has stop chamfered beams to ceiling; collar truss roof frame, one collar signed: W W 1738.
Originally part of the Ilchester Estate (Redlynch Park qv): bricks may originate from small kiln in Shepton Montague.
