Former rectory. C18 origins, but largely of c.1870. Flemish bond brick with
sandstone plinth; central and left ranges of sandstone ashlar; moulded stone
cornice throughout. Old plain-tile roof has ridge cresting. Red and blue brick
right end and ridge stacks have tumbling and dogtooth cornices, Irregular cross
plan, High Victorian Gothic style. 2 storeys and attic; 3-windoow range. Tall
gabled central range rises above main roof Chamfered mull ioned windows with
plate glass sashes. Ground floor has paired 3-light windows, with 2-light
windows above; gable has paired segmental-painted lancets. Moulded string course
is continued as cornice of projecting ground floor to left, 5-light window;
3-light window above. Right part has 3-light windows, with narrower brick
segmental arches above. Small square window between floors in angle. Hipped
dormers to left and right ranges have 2-light casement Right return side has
subsidiary gabled range on right, with polychrome brick chamfered Gothic arched
doorway and part-glazed 6-panelled double-leaf doors, 2-light window above has
relieving arch with basket-weave brickwork and cross in blue brick. Interior not
inspected. Included for group value.
