3/123 No.94

9.12.55

- II

Office; built early C15 as a shop with a solar above. 2 storeys. Timber-
framed; gable front with upper floor end-jettied towards the street on knees.
Exposed close-studwork with plastered infill panels. Plaintiled roof with
external chimney at side. C19 mullioned and transomed casements, and boarded
entrance door. The exposed framing beneath the jettied upper floor gives
evidence for 3 adjacent windows and a narrow doorway, each with moulded head
and jambs and each formerly having a 4-centred arched head. Fully tension-
braced studwork and plain crownpost roof were temporarily exposed during
alterations at date of survey. A small lean-to extension was added to right
in C19.
