Buildings at Scarthingwell
Hall Farm

Farmbuildings. Early C18. Built as part of the model farm to Scarthingwell Hall.
Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Pantile and C20 corrugated roof sheeting.
Quoins and first floor band. 2 storey. 9 bays. East front has projecting 3-bay
central section with 3 round arched openings with keystones and impost blocks.
Either side are symetrical 3-bay sections with central round headed doorways with
plain ashlar surrounds with key stones, that to left has had its round head
removed, either side are single windows with plain ashlar surrounds and keystones.
Above each of the 3 sections has a semi-circular pitching eye, and above again
the central section is topped by a pediment. West front has recessed central
3-bays obscured by late C19 brick lean-to addition. Either side are similar 3-bay
projecting sections, with 3 round arched openings with keystones and impost blocks,
above a semi-circular pitching eye, and the whole topped by a large pediment with
circular opening.
