Nos.17-27 (Odd)
GV II
Artisans cottages. 1908-9. Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. Same materials and basic layout as Nos. 17-27 (odd) Temple Fortune Hill, opposite. Slight variations in detail, which include: pronounced flared eaves to outshuts of each flared wing; peak of No.18's facing gable pierced with single light of later C20. Interior returns of each wing without half dormers, and three-windows each; narrow round-arched twit ten passage in main range at join with crosswing; greater variety , of casement lights; axial ridge stack to centre and lateral stacks to main roof range, on line with crosswing; pair of stacks to each crosswing. Forms part of Nos. 1-35 (odd) and 2-36 (even) Temple Fortune Hill, an important section of the original artisans' quarter as planned by Unwin. As with Asmuns Hill, the emphasis is on the production of a coherent streetscape composed of distinct types.
