Walls and gates to Milnthorp Homes
GV II
Walls and gates. 1904. Coursed rock-faced stone with ashlar
dressings. Low wall with ashlar chamfered coping 140m long,
with 2 sets of gates and 16 intermediary piers flush with the
front wall, arranged 5:16:1. Gate piers square with moulded
tops and concave pyramidal caps with ball finials.
Built as an integral part of the architectural layout of this
group of almshouses.
