Farmhouse, now house. Early-mid C17, modernised in C19 and C20. Plastered cob on
rubble footings; rubble stacks with C20 brick tops; thatched roof. 3-room house
facing south comprising 2-room lobby entrance main house with axial stack serving
back to back fireplaces and at right (east) end a service room with through
passage, now with C20 end stack. 2 storeys. Irregular 3-window front. Main
house has symmetrical 2-window front with central C19 4-panel door with overlight
and C20 slate-roofed monopitch hood. It is flanked by late C19 3-light casements
with glazing bars and C19 12-pane sashes to first floor. Service room has late
C19-early C20 casements and C20 casement blocking front door of service through
passage. Inside early-mid C17 crossbeams and oak fireplace lintels are chamfered
with exagerated scroll stops and same treatment of lintel of doorway through
internal cob crosswall to service room. Roof inaccessible but lower sections of
principals show that it is made up of A-frame trusses. Well-preserved early-mid
C17 farmhouse with interesting plan.
