House. c.1845; C20 alterations. By H.L. Elmes. Stone with
roof of hexagonal slates. 2 storeys, 4 bays with recessed
service wing, much altered. 1st and 3rd bays break forward
under gables with pinnacles. Ground floor has double-
chamfered-mullioned windows with transoms and label moulds,
the 1st bay has 4-light projecting window, 4th bay has 3-
light window. 1st floor has 2-light window to 1st bay, the
rest are C20 casements. Entrance to 3rd bay has Tudor head
and label mould, foliate spandrels. Flanking octagonal
buttresses rise to diapered pinnacles. Several stacks with
octagonal or diagonal shafts. Rear similar, with basement,
less altered. Basement has loggia with 3 Tudor arches with
narrower arches and label moulds beteen, traceried
balustrade. Central canted bay window. 1st floor string
course and 3 gables.
