The Cottage and attached walls and

House, now part of school. c1900. Possibly by Penty. Mottled
brick with pantiled pyramid roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. East facade symmetrical and of 3 bays.
The windows are casements with glazing bars. The outer bays
have ground-floor windows with segmental red brick heads and
low 1st floor windows under the eaves. Above the central
doorway there is a 1st floor window with segmental head. The
doorway has a bolection moulded architrave, and a cornice hood
on console brackets. The door is partly glazed. The central
chimney is of thin red brick and has a projecting plain
rectangular panel and a moulded stone cornice. The left-hand
(south) return wall has 2 glazing bar sash windows on the
ground floor. A 1st floor casement window rises above eaves
level as a hipped dormer. The north wall has a similar dormer.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the small front garden is enclosed by
brick walls which are swept down in a curve at the front where
they carry iron railings. The central iron gate has a rounded
top, a lock panel with an intersecting pattern, and slim iron
piers with urn finials.
