Large villa with attached verandah, now rest home. Probably
mid C19; altered. Painted roughcast, slate roofs; cast-iron
verandah with glass roof. Neo-Jacobean style. Elongated
double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics, 1:1:1:2 windows, in an

former breaking forwards) flanking a narrow 3-stage
porch-tower with decorated frieze and embattled parapet, and
the 1st bay with a parapet. Framing strips and bands to each
bay and to the parapet and gables. The ground floor, protected
by a full-width verandah which has Perpendicular-style
open-work standards, wide traceried arches and a shallow
monopitched glass roof, has a tall doorway in the 3rd bay with
panelled door and 3-light overlight, a canted bay window in
the 1st bay with French windows, a large rectangular window in
the 2nd bay and a wide altered opening in the 4th bay.
Vertical-rectangular windows at 1st floor with raised
surrounds and hoodmoulds, that in the 4th bay wider and a
narrow inserted window to its left; a similar rectangular
window at 2nd floor of the tower, and small 1-light attic
windows in the flanking gables (all these windows with altered
glazing.) Ridge chimney behind tower, and gable chimneys.
Rear and interior not inspected.
