House, now shop and offices. Late C15, with late C17
alteration and extension; remodelled early C19. Timber-framed,
encased at front and rear in pink-grey brick in Flemish bond;
pantile roof with brick stack.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 1-window front. Shop has plank stable door
and projecting 3x9-pane horizontal sliding sash window over
former external counter, beneath overhanging moulded canopy.
First and second floor windows are 16-pane sashes with painted
stone sills and cambered brick arches. Fluted bowl rainwater
head to left. Rear: 2-storey 1-window extension with 2x9-pane
horizontal sliding sash beneath timber lintel on ground floor;
12-pane sash on first floor.
INTERIOR: timber-framed cross walls survive. Ground floor rear
room has fireplace with timber lintel. First floor front room
has fireplace with hob-grate in plain surround with moulded
cornice shelf, rear room hob-grate in reeded surround with
angle blocks and plain shelf.
