GV II

House. Early C19. Timber-framed and rendered with hipped
concrete plain tile roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 3-window range; single-storey extensions
on each flank. Front has 3 asymmetrical 12-pane sash windows
in moulded surrounds on 1st floor. Ground floor has central
doorcase with flat hood on consoles and moulded architrave to
door of 2 moulded over 2 flush panels; 3 steps with
wrought-iron handrails with ball knobs. Either side is a
16-pane sash window.
Front of south-east lean-to has a 4-light horizontal window
over a door and area of brickwork. The roof of this is of
slate.
The front part of the north-west flank extension has forward
sloping lean-to roof and C19 shop front of 4 lights, fascia,
thin side pilasters and door with rectangular fanlight. The
rear part is lean-to against main flank, and flank wall is of
black weatherboarding.
Rear has single-storey catslide-roofed wing and extension
partly of 2 storeys; 2 large stacks and one 16-pane sash
window on 1st floor. Ground floor has one 12-pane and one
16-pane sash and C20 small-paned rear door.
INTERIOR: late softwood timber-frame with main members having
beaded corners. Central hall with tight winder stair off one
side.
