Public house. Early C19. Red Flemish-bond brick with gabled
Welsh slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with cellar; 3-window range. Wide eaves
overhang. 2nd floor has three 12-pane sash windows with
cambered gauged brick arches. The 1st floor has a 16-pane sash
window either side of central blind recess. Ground floor has
window arches for 2 similar windows, altered to provide two
C19 public-house windows, each of 2 lights with fascia and
hood. Central doorcase has wide overhanging cornice hood,
Doric fluted pilasters, recessed door with 4 glazed panels
over 2 moulded panels and panelled reveals.
The north-east exposed elevation is an asymmetrical gable with
2 stacks and ground floor has C20 imitation of front doorcase.
The rear is of 2 storeys with projecting lower block with
catslide from main roof. The recessed part has, on its 1st
floor, one 16-pane sash window and one similar 12-pane window,
both with segmental heads. The ground floor has one 16-pane
sash, an entrance door at head of a flight of stairs and a
cellar access. Projecting part has one 16-pane sash over a
larger sash and cellar light.
