House, now hostel. Early C19 with earlier origins.
Timber-framed and rendered with low-pitched Welsh slate on
front slope and plain tile steeper pitched roof to rear. Roof
continuous with Nos 7 & 11 (qv).
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; one-window range. Front has 16-pane sash
window with moulded surround on 1st floor. Ground floor has
flat-roofed canted bay with small-paned sash window and
horizontal ventilators in upper part. Panelled door with
glazed light of 3 panes over 4 flush panels, with consoles and
flat hood. Tile ledge above ground floor window.
Rear has extension of single storey and attic with half-hipped
roof, of black weatherboarding, with two 2-light C20 casements
and with 2 further single-storey outhouse extensions one with
a pantile roof. Large stack on rear wall of main range.
INTERIOR: formerly a single-storey timber-framed building with
No.7 (qv), later raised to form house. Tie beams are exposed
in front range just above present 1st-floor level.
Possible former outbuildings or market stalls.
