House. C17 or earlier. Timber-framed and rendered; plain tile
and slate roofs; T-shaped stack on ridgeline near intersection
of 2 front ranges. T-plan form.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey wing at north-east end with gabled plain
tile roof and 2-storey block to rear of this with low-pitched
slate roof. To the south-west is a one-storey-and-attic block
with plain tile gambrel roof. The north-east elevation has an
additional gabled wing.
On the 1st floor is a plain sash window with moulded surround
and 2 smaller plain sash windows. On the ground floor is one
similar small sash, a canted bay window with 16-pane sash and
lean-to plain tile roof and a door with semicircular fanlight
with Gothick glazing bars. The north-west face of wing has a
9-pane sash window with moulded surround on 1st floor.
The south-west elevation has an altered 9-pane sash window
(now 2 panes in top part) and 2 small plain sash windows. One
similar small sash and a 12-pane sash with moulded surround,
in ground floor. Entrance door with moulded flat hood and
lean-to extension. Gabled dormer on south-east facing slope of
gambrel with leaded light window.
Rear slate-roofed range has truncated flank stack and bay
window on south-east face.
